Malešice’s new natural city center has brought a pleasant refreshing to this Prague neighborhood.
The housing complex’s second phase completes construction on Malešice’s new city center. The building has a shared basement with two underground floors, which include 401 parking spaces, an area for washing vehicles, and technical facilities – as well as 5 independent above-ground buildings with 8, 15, and 18 floors, respectively. There are 16 commercial properties located on the ground floor, including a supermarket and a wellness center. The other above-ground floors hold 71 studios and 210 apartments.
The building’s foundation was designed using a slab located on piles. The building’s waterproofing system uses watertight reinforced concrete construction concept (white tank). The load-bearing vertical and horizontal construction is executed using monolithic reinforced concrete. Brick or foam concrete blocks are used for the exterior perimeter walls and interior dividing walls. The roofs have been designed to be green; they include extensive green roofs as well ones supporting and not supporting foot traffic. The building’s cladding is comprised of a combination of an exterior insulation system and a ventilated facade; the ground floor is supplemented by a facade of glazed aluminum. The work included completing construction on a ground floor space between the buildings in Phases I and II, including park modification and connecting routes.
