Higher quality sewage treatment will enable increasing environmental protection in Ústí nad Orlicí area.

The aim of the project was draining sewage waters from the Ústí and Orlicí parts of Dukla, Hylváty, Kerhartice and the municipality of Dlouhá Třebová, to the present wastewater treatment plant. The WWTP was intensified and reconstructed while fully operating as a part of the project.

WWTP is designed as mechanically-biological with pneumatic aerating, aerobic sludge destabilisation. The present apparatus was topped up by another biological line of the D-N system with preranked selectors. The inlet pumping station, the rough precleaning before biological treatment and sludge management were reconstructed.

The gravity sewers in the length of 16.8 km and 883 house hookups in the length of 4.5 km were newly built as a part of the development. 4.2 km of current gravity sewers were reconstructed and another 1.7 km were renewed by inlaying. Dislodging lines and pressure sewers were built in the length of 4.6 km. The construction also included relocation of the existing main water mains in the length of 3.8 km and the reconnection of 201 hookups in the length of 800 metres.
