The 25-metre-high lookout tower is a multi-purpose building which newly dominates Cross Mountain and its vicinity.
The main building, the tower, is formed by a round base plate with a round footing and eight radially arranged ribs which bear the steel-concrete body tube of the tower. Outer jacketing of the lookout tower is formed by nailed binders with matched boarding. The crown of the tube features a round plate to which the wooden structure of the lookout is anchored.
The lookout tower is complemented by an arcade, a wooden roofed structure which is supported along the outer perimeter with a steel-concrete border. The open ground by-pass forms a circle stretching up to the body of the tower. Natural materials, in particular timber, were used wherever possible in the construction.
The construction of the lookout tower with 130 pre-fab staircase treads was carried out in rough climatic conditions and on rugged terrain.
