Mercedes-Benz Trucks Česká Republika and Their Partners Begin Construction on a New Sales and Service Center in Moravia

Today in Velký Týnec near Olomouc, a ceremony was held to lay the foundation stone of a new cargo truck sales and service center for the company Mercedes-Benz Trucks Česká republika, which is an accredited importer of Mercedes-Benz and Fuso cargo trucks. The company Linkcity is behind the project’s development as a whole, while also providing the actual construction via its sister company, VCES.

Josef Mařík, CEO of the company Mercedes-Benz Trucks Česká republika, spoke on this topic: “In 2021 – for the twentieth time in a row – we became number one on the Czech market regarding the registration of cargo vehicles weighing a total of 6 tons or more. I’m happy that we’ve also been able to start the present construction project alongside this anniversary. We’ve decided to markedly increase the capacity of our of service center network in areas near the junction of the main Moravian motorway routes, so that we can improve service center accessibility not only for this region’s customers but also for vehicles that are passing through. From this location, we will be able to serve the wider Olomouc area and its surroundings. At the same time, there will be a spacious, modern facility for new and used cargo truck sales located here.”

On the subject of their present cooperation, Kristýna Zavrtálková, CEO of Linkcity Czech Republic, said:  “The history of this new Mercedes-Benz Trucks ČR branch began in the fall of 2020 by identifying a suitable locality in accordance with the client’s requirements, defining the technical specifications, and subsequently preparing the project documentation for the desired permissions. At the end of 2021, we submitted the application for building permission, and we’re starting construction today. I believe that our cooperation will continue to be successful.”

Zdeněk Pokorný, CEO of the construction company VCES, said the following about the project:  “The construction was preceded by detailed project preparations on the part of the investor, our developer Linkcity in cooperation with the technical department of VCES, and the project planner.  I believe that having the construction company participate starting at the project’s earliest phase is key, as this creates our development’s added value. Because of it, we were able to design a whole range of technical solutions to help configure the project in the best possible way. We value the trust that the company Mercedes-Benz Trucks ČR has invested in our group up to now, and we’re convinced that we’ll fulfill their expectations just as we did on our previous project, an administration center in Prague’s Stodůlky.”

PhDr. Petr Hanuška, Ph.D., the mayor of the municipality of Velký Týnec, expressed his support for the construction: “The village of Velký Týnec welcomes the arrival of the company Mercedes-Benz Trucks Česká republika s.r.o. to the region of Central Moravia. The municipal council considered the pluses and minuses linked to the arrival of the current investor very carefully and came to the unequivocal opinion that the presence of this prestigious company will contribute positively to our region’s development and offer many work opportunities – and not only for our residents. The nature of the business and the way it hooks into the highway network corresponds to the selected location. In other words, it doesn’t in any way negatively influence the environment for the people living in the residential areas of Vsisko. We believe that the municipality will maintain a mutually advantageous relationship with the firm, which among other things will benefit our municipality by making it more visible on the business map of the Czech Republic.

Basic Information about the Construction

Mercedes-Benz Trucks ČR was looking for a suitable location in Central Moravia close to the main freight transport routes. The location at Velký Týnec is very accessible from the directions of Hradec Králové, Brno, Ostrava, and Opava. The new facility will be situated at the intersection of the D35 motorway and the I/55 national road. Together with a new, already existing Mercedes-Benz service center for cargo trucks and buses near Brno at the D1 motorway exit – the authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership Hošek Motor in Ostrovačice – and another newly built service center for cargo trucks near Ostrava – the authorized dealership Croy – Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ capacity will be bolstered greatly along the Moravian sections of main routes from west to east as well as north to south.

Facts about the new Sales and Service Center

The facility’s premises cover an overall area of over 50,000 m2.  A service center for trucks and buses will be located on the premises and will be fully equipped to conduct all common maintenance and repair work. The reception area for service work, the sales space for replacement parts, and an area for drivers to rest and wait are located on the ground floor of the adjoining administrative building. On the upper floor, there will be offices and meeting spaces for sales staff selling new and used trucks as well as facilities for employees – changing rooms, washrooms, and a cafeteria. Around the building, there will be enough parking places for both personal as well as cargo trucks. The establishment will also include floor space for used vehicles that are being offered for sale. The building has a modular design, allowing for the likelihood of the service center and parking capacity being enlarged in the future according to the scope of valid building permissions.

Considering its location along major routes and its approach through an industrial zone at the edge of Olomouc, it won’t add any noise pollution or emissions burden to the environment. A significant part of the premises will be covered in green areas. Recharging stations for electric cars will also be included in the facilities, the amount of which should increase rapidly in the near future.

The Sales and Service Center Offers New Work Opportunities

When it begins operation, the new Truck Center should employ around 50 employees. Interested parties can already find out more about available positions at the website https://mercedestrucks.jobs.cz/ .
